...For The Long Days Back Home
Shopping is almost over but I've got myself a few last pieces of equipment…
I’m the proud mommy of a new 28mm f/1.8 and a 85mm f/1.8 which joined the 50mm f/1.8 in the camera bag.... yep I like to zoom with my feet!! And hopefully the 17-270mm is still being repaired

Hey Celine,
So why do you like the 17-270 lens so much? Is it the range? I don't think canon makes one with that kind of range. I have the canon 28-135 that I use as my walk around lens but I miss the 70-300 that I used to have....I'm thinking about investing in another lens so just curious about your love for the Tamaron lens.... ;-)

Hi Christine...
Sorry didn't see your comment before today!
it's good for the range when I want to document (as opposed to take 'artsy' picture) on a trip... wide enough (even on a non full frame) and the zoom is good too. Jeff and the kids are patient enough when I take pictures but I could easily push the limit if I didn't keep an eye on them. I have to say that I don't think I use it that much at 270mm mainly bc I have shaky hands but the VC helped a lot (I had the tamron 18-200? before and didn't have the VC). The Canon 18-200 would probably be the equivalent which would be wider than the one you have and 200mm makes it a 320mm equivalent on full frame which is pretty good.
But I LOVE my prime lenses:( my 28mm is almost permanently attached to it it gives me the equivalent of a 50mm on a full frame and that's how my eyes are trained) or the 50mm when I know I'm going to take portrait. Need to use more my 85mm.
